erm~~ based on the resit, I don't think so~ but they said they used gunuine Honda oil filter. regarding the engine oil or other transmission oil might be aftermarket type unless U request to use gunuine Honda oil. Whether the warranty will be voided or not, they didn't really tell me coz the term "warranty" only be voided if U are modding the car. eventhough the engine oil, he can't said I didn't change the oil for ages, I did change with the same W figures, just that using different oil and it still runs perfectly~ they said they need to make sure that I didn't mod the car such as adding a mushroom type filter, sport cluth etc... hard to tell unless they give me a clear definition regarding the term of "warranty". and no technician dare to critisize other technician's workmanship. that's why Honda mechanic can't judge that my brake problem was caused by the ultra tune technician and he didn't urge me not to service at the other centre. Only the sales manager insist me to service at Honda dealer~ grr, they had argued regarinding this issue in front of me..><~

Hi, I'm new here. From what I have read in the manual, CVT manual sequential shift are not manual.
It says that it will shift up for you if you hit red line in manual mode and vice versa.
I figured that sorta defeats the purpose of the manual shift even though it is a nice safety feature.
With the CVT I assume at freeway speeds the engine is not singing at 3000rpm @ 100km/h like the manual jazz.
Spoon must had a reason not to use the CVT and I can only guess the take off and the lack of manual shift in the CVT.
Also, I think with the CVT it has some sort of traction control like feature where when not launched right, it doesn't not accelerate as fast.
Can anyone confirm any of the above?

Not sure about the redliner thingy.. I haven't tried it myself personally.. Jazzpro, you able to comment on this?
CVT cruises 100km/h at about 2300rpm - 2500rpm with the overdrive like engaged. If I am not mistaken?
I dun think it is traction control like feature.. what I find is that, when the gear is engaged, it doesn't move straight away if the foot is off the accelerator, there is a lag there for the CVT to determine the correct gear.. (is that what you meant?)

I was trying to actually look for this website where the person described his experience but I found a better one now asia.vtec.net/Reviews/JazzVtec/the redline shift thing I read from the jazz book manual but he describes it anyway in there.. It is an interesting read on the explanation of how the CVT works in the Honda Jazz. If it only had better software programming or tech use from the F1 than the CVT would have been a shoe in for me. I'm still half baked on weather I bought the right jazz (ie manual vs CVT) For those interested, I have a manual vti-s

.......If it only had better software programming or tech use from the F1 than the CVT would have been a shoe in for me....... the F1 gearbox isn't a CVT so the tech is obviously different and wouldn't apply on MAINSTREAM MASS PRODUCED road car anyway.

I know Phil that the F1 Gearbox is not the same as CVT... that's why I said if they incorporated some of the technology from there into the CVT than it may have been better performing.

Jazz CVT is a virtual gear shift.. It is not the actual gear shift.. Quite fun sometimes..
duketing, I got the CVT because someone couldn't drive manual ;D

Nah it's not faster. I've driven both. Sometimes I regret not getting CVT model, but for pure accelleration manual is the winner.

According to the info (from one of the Aussie auto maganzine, but i can't remembe the name) that found by a memeber in OZhonda, the answer is YES!! CVT take shorter time from 0 - 100km than MT! But i don't know the MAX speed!!
