Man, I thought emailing them would be a better option to ask them whether modifying SPECIFIC parts of a car )e.g. springs) would only affect that specific part that was modified, so in this case the springs.
I emailed them asking them exactly that, whether modifying that specific item would void the entire car warranty or just that part.
And they reply with this:
Your Honda European Warranty will be affected by any unauthorised modification. Any damage that results from, and is traceable to, the modification will not be covered by warranty.
That doesn't answer my question!! I asked them does it void that specific part and they come back with that. Of course I know it affects it by any unauthorised modification, but does it mean the whole warranty or the parts themselves?
I emailed them again with a really good clear example, and they replied the same.
Looks like I'm going to have to contact Honda UK via phone to get some descent answers.
Last time walked into dealers and asked about modifications as I was thinking of painting my calipers (both front and back) and asked whether that would void car warranty or just the part and he said that it would just void calipers only, wouldn't void brake pads or the entire car, but thought I'd make sure.
Might give them a call during the week or after exams.

modifying specific parts of the car will only void warrenty for that part only.
what the email is trying to say: for example, say u painted ur calipers and one day brakes fail/die/fall apart, if they can trace it back to the calipers being sprayed, then ur brakes won't be under warrenty.
i think thats correct, can anyone else comfirm this?

hard to say.. that clause might mean that if kentris paint that calipers.. engine malfucntioned might be caused by that caliper?? Sounded silly .. but they said : " ANY "..
I remember seeing something in Australia that they specifically said the parts which was modified will not be covered...

kentris since you don't live in France where you are guilty until you prove yourself innocent - Nepolionic code and all.
British legal system lumps the burden of proof with Honda UK. Honda must prove that the modification caused a problem. Obviously they can't cover the replaced part as it is no longer theirs but they are liable for all other parts unless they can prove the changed part caused a problem with one of their other parts. That would prove to be quite an excercise so unless its something obvious they will fix it. They will of course try it on to try and get out of honouring warranty as they do here but when pressed will do the right thing. The last thing they want is bad publicity.
Good to hear that Honda UK are just as useless as Honda Australia. Don't feel so bad now.
