You have to get your handbrake adjusted every now and then. ie tightened. Not something Honda dealers do as part of their service schedule unless you ask. Yet another reason why you don't take your car to a Honda dealer if you want it serviced properly.
At Hanny's (Honda only service specialist) you don't need to ask because they check things and know when things need attention. Last service my tyres needed rotating. 3 guys had the wheels off and rotated before I even had a chance to mention it. Things happen fast when a car is serviced by a team. Last minor service completed in under 20mins including installation of front and rear strut bars, oil and filter change, four wheel rotation, checked tyre pressures, changed service sticker and all checks as per manual.
3 clicks fully applied is the go.
You can drive around in most cars with the handbrake applied just requires more gas. It is meant as a park brake to prevent the car rolling down a hill when parked not to pull the car up like the main braking system.
The original mini was the handbrake king. Judging by that video the new one looks up to the task.
