I'd rather do the cinema thing at home and just listen to music in the car. Not like you can watch anything while driving anyway. If I have to park somewhere to watch a movie then I'd rather be on the couch at home with the big / huge screen and fresh hot popcorn. yeah but sometimes i go fishing and the mrs (especially my mum sometimes comes along) would be bored sitting in the car so thinking of getting nicer sound for them while watching the movies (of coz as well as music while i'm driving) ;D

Hey vividjazz, with your amps in the tyre well, I was just wondering, did you get a floor panel made up, and di you have to make up some supports to hold the floor up?
I had a quick look at my boot the other day and that is the place I will be putting my amps and it just appeared as though the spare actually holds the floor up?

Floor panel just like when building amp racks. That way you get better airflow, less need to mark up the interior and makes the amps easier to remove. Amps behind seats without racks is real hack stuff. Didn't do floor support but not a bad idea as the floor does flex without the spare rock under it. Still haven't had any problem carrying the pram, groceries or the sub box.

My little 8" 2nd hand infinity sub bought the bullet so I'll think i'll get serious and replace it one of these from vibe. May need to do some floor support with the extra weight. The black air II sub magnet is 50ozs alone. www.vibeaudio.co.uk/products/l-cbr.jpgI love tight deep bass.

Was going to go the custom box and sub route but then thought why bother. Its a shame Crossfire and more of the manufacturers don't do pre done enclosures with their subs.
Here you have a dedicated sub and amp company with product costing far less than high end Alpine and Pioneer that look the goods and sound unbelieveable.

Test drove both the Vibe CBR 12 and Space 12 today. WOW!!! Even though my monoblock amp only puts about 400W RMS and the space 12 takes 1000W RMS (they also have a 1250W RMS version) it absolutely thumped. Anyone putting 2 and 3 average subs in is an idiot. This thing would absolutely blow them to the weeds. Noticable clarity difference between the CBR and Space but most people would be more than happy with the Black Air II based enclosure and wouldn't know what they are missing unless they were lucky enough to have heard the Space. We are talking about a $1,200 unit compared to a $600 one. The meaty surround on the Space has to be seen to be believed. The possible excursion of the cone is scarey. Its such a shame they don't do a 10" Space as I image the sound would be even tighter. www.vibeaudio.co.ukMy old 8" Infinity came back from the dead so no urgency to upgrade yet. Have to say if you have $1,000 to blow on an awesome sub (you will still need an amp to go with it on top of that) then there are some awesome products to choose from.

Picture of the Vibe Space 12 sub. The surround looks even chunkier in real life.
