ok i have to say i love my jazz, but this really pisses me off. Rust, this is the 5th time. I find its anything but amusing. So far i've had rust under the bonnet, in the front drivers doors, on the boot hinges, near the battery in the bonnet, & just yesterday i found rust on the rear passenger doors. Has anyone else had this problem. Sure Honda have repaired each time, but totally i've probally lost my car for 3 weeks and no loan car was offered due to it being warranty work and i'm doing the maths & seeing as there is only 1 year & 2 months warranty left i couldn't see this problem fixing itself. Considering the first bit of rust appeared at just 4 months old in the inside of the drivers door is quite poor. The car is always garaged & washed regularly. Even my parents car in the U.K. is a 96 5 door civic & only has some surface underbody rust & spent half its life outdoors, considering the have salt on the roads.
Sorry about the long post but i'm getting fed up with the constant going back to Honda for repairs.

where are U stayin? near to the beach or something? coz salthy wind might cause any rust to your car too~ did U wipe your car dry after washed and park at any open air (especially dry place) shed ?? coz it could effect the condition of the steel ~~~

nvm.. I have the same question as nick.. unless you stay near the beach and have your car expose to the wind... It's hard to believe a 3 year old (I am assuming) Jazz has has on the body... I certainly don't have this problem.. (I hope not..) and I wash my Jazz every 2 - 3 weeks.. and park in the garage most of the time (if not out).. I am sure the chassis is galvanized and protected against rust for a period of time.. I mean if it is showing rust on the body.. surely I will post a question to the dealer and Honda Australia and demand an answer. Another option is certainly investing in the body sealant after it is fixed something like this.. www.toughseal.com.au/ .. cost you a few hundred bucks or so but certainly worth it if the area you stay is known to have this problem... Hope this help...

speaking about rust .. do they (honda cars) normally come with rust protection from the factory? or do we normally have to put on one ourselves?

as far as I know.. car manufacturers do galvanise their cars to protect against rust up to a period of time.. except for moving parts etc or damage to the chassis from accidents.. then that's not guarantee..

i live near the beach but we've got a 2000 rav4 which is hardly washed & has no rust at all, i've had a car which was almost as old as me, and owned it for the same time as the jazz. Damn i've got a neighbour which got there car 6 months before me & they've got no jazz. If Honda thought it was only due to enviroment they wouldn't have fixed it the previous 4 times. But all the rust except one part in the gutter rails was inside the car or in the engine bay which isnt exposed to the elements.
