I was looking at this press release for 2007 US Honda Fit... hondanews.com/CatID1000?mid=2006010734417&mime=ascThe bodykit looks different and I reckon it looks nicer than our current VTiS bodykit, so does the instrument dials.. I was surprised to see that they've move the header to the front of the engine from one of the picture below.. (or I've made a mistake?)

it looks ok, I don't like the longer front end though. Or at least it seems that way to me.

the longer front end is to comply with US safety standards or something i believe. yeh i'm not a fan of it either
oh yeh i remember they have 6 airbags standard (drivers, passengers, side, and curtain air bags)

6 Speaker stereo, MP3, factory iPod control. Drive by wire throttle control. EBD but the old rear drums. Cool dash.
Prefer the shorter nose but they need the bumpers in order to touch park.
Septic tanks are all wineing like a pack of girls about the fuel economy which is pretty much the same as everywhere else bar the extra weight from those 6 x 2 stage airbags which they need because Amercians won't wear seat belts.
The 5 speed auto was used because its more durable than the CVT. Americans are notorious for abusing their vehicles and poor vehicle maintenance (failing to follow the log book) and then sueing the manufacturer for resulting problems. A lot of manufacturers have to detune their vehicles for the US market for these reasons. The US BMW M3 being one of the best examples.

blk, the front nose does look a bit longer than ours.. ours are rounder in front.. see photos below.. sohc.vtec.net/article_files/472390/06naias-0122.jpg5 speed auto and no CVT?? Hmm.. CVT is a better technology but some said is not as durable as 5 speed auto tranny.. I don't know about that tho.. CVT is new to me..

I don't think that the CVT is not durable in itself just that it needs the fluid changed when required and only with the proper fluid (proper maintenance). The 5 speed auto will not get the same sort of major problems if the fluid isn't changed.
If they won't even change their oil when recommended then they aren't likely to change the transmission fluid let alone with the right fluid. Honda rightly doesn't want the fantastic CVT getting a bad name and have to replace a heap of transmissions for DAAs.
Its also cheaper to put the 5 speed auto in as they have to keep the price down as that market fails to appreciate premium small cars.

but i thot honda would create a totally different looking jazz (obviously besides longer front end and may be some minor bits and pieces) but i'm saying the appearance of this new jazz.. this just make me think its just a combination of the previous models...
dont they have that "2 years small change, 5 years big change" thingy??
and yeah i prefer CVT...

The headers aren't on the front of the engine...they are just revised intake runners...
Looks kinda OK. I like the dash lights and all that.
I only really care about the engine mods to come out of the US

Being in the states and having seen both JDM fit/jazz and now the NA version I can say it looks much less MPV like with the bigger bumpers. Also not all of us are whiners about the MPG. In fact Honda NA has promised that our version will have the fastest 0 -60 mph time of any production Fit/Jazz made ;D
