i think with vti u should be able to get a brand new manual 05 with on road for that, given it's "year old" stock.

Your's is $10 below $20,000 excluding on road cost.. Doesn't sound like a demo..

He's got the mats and tint I think. Josh Sady. Ring around and compare the prices, Robert Lane, Travis Fankston Honda, GWS, C&P Honda John Blair are pretty competitive..

Demo cars are generally sold as if 2nd hand so you have to pay stamp duty on the transfer of ownership.
They have been thrashed from brand new because its amazing how hard people test drive cars which they don't care about. A number of cars in Parramatta have been flipped during test drives! Most dealers have the demo for close to 12 months before they turn it over.
Saving is often only a few hundred dollars to a bit over a $1,000 over new. A lot of demo cars have repaired damage. Some they don't even bother repairing damage before selling.
You'll lose a lot on resale if you only keep the car for a short period of time. If keeping for a long time then 1 or 2 years is not going to make any difference in 10 or 15 years time.
Car purchase prices cannot be compared between states as taxes and charges are different in each state. NSW being the most expensive.

Usually ex-demo car in Melbourne can bargain down at least 1 - 2 grand.. with a few hundreds off, ppl will go for the new.. I agree that the first 2 years of the new car depreciate the most value...

so is it cheaper to buy a car say in melbourne or brisbane and then bring it to sydney? Can for certain cars but you still have to remember if you live in NSW you have to pay all the state taxes to have a car registered in NSW. ie. stamp duty, registration, ever increasing 3rd party (green slip). Some things are crazy though like dealer delivery for Hondas are different rates in different states and has nothing to do with shipping costs. In Sydney you only have to take a few hundred off an ex demo and some sucker will buy it.

We tested a VTiS on Sat. It is the vivid blue colour. It is priced at $23,585.00 and it was registered on the road on 02/02/06. The vehicle was built in May 2005 and the Compliance plate was put on in July last year. It had 666kms on the dial on Sat. Judging from what is listed above its sound to be way to pricey but I've not attempted to negotiate anything yet as I'm waiting to see the Honda Civic release on the 23rd Feb.

I have recently learnt that you don't have to buy the car in the same state you are living in cause Honda will do the warranty regardless where the car is from. My uncle bought a BMW from Queensland and he said he saved close to 30% of what they charge in Adelaide. Got Toll Road to put on train from there to Adelaide for $300. I think its a standard price from anywhere with Toll. So shop Australia wide for you car. If you can save $2000-$3000 and pay for transport fee. Still worth it. I also heard Melbourne has the cheapest rates for rego. People in Adelaide are starting to buy cars in Melbourne and bringing to Adelaide and then pay I think was $21 to transfer from Melb to SA plates.
