I dunno...this may have been covered before, but with halogens headlights what is the difference between all of them? Which one is the better than others? And how the hell do i fit them in...can't figure out how to open up headlights....if i read the manual i guess would help...LOL
Cheers.

Don't touch the globes and follow the excellent instructions including pictures in the manual.
Japanes brands such as BJ Union and Polarg are a lot better than the cheapies. Last longer, stay brighter, etc.
The different kelvan ratings produce differnt types of light so it comes down to personal preference. Most people are after a pure white light though some people like the bluer colour.
Most sellers have pictures.

defected by police?
anyway troll, when you do get the halogen bulbs, make sure you do not touch the glass because you'll end up making hotspots on it for when you come to switch them on, and then it'll go pop and break the bulbs.

Typeg defective reasons:- -Too low (which I know of as Mugen Pro bar is hang too low and I will just put my stock bumper on for rwc) -Exhuast MAYBE too loud (I will put the stock exhuast back on) -Spoon socks (the cops say it is very dangerous as it will caught fire and I have tried to explain this sock is not framable but he kept on saying NONONO) -Subwoofer box not secure (need to remove it or screw it in as they said throw out of the car during accident ) -sport pedals

TypeG is in Vic but rules are similar but not the same in most states.
I'm not the RTA but my understanding is the lowest point on the car is not to be less than 10cm. They test by getting a 10cm high roller thing and run it under the car if it hits anything then its too low at that point and you get a canary (yellow defect notice) which you then need to pay for an inspection to get cleared and often pay a fine (because public safety is all about revenue). Also your headlights are not to be too low otherwise they don't project properly. And finally they argue if your bumpers are too low then thats a problem but its not as if the bumper height on very many different cars match up from the factory anyway. How many big 4WD have bumpers at the same height as the stock Jazz?
Pedals have to have a certain amount of rubber on them for road use. Idea behind it is for grip. ie those nice drilled metal Spoon ones and others are illegal on the street. They are designed for use with the special shoes you use when racing. Besides the racing boots/shoes being fire resistant like the rest of your racing outfit and underwear the sole is quite different to normal street shoes. They wear out real quick if you walk around the paddock a lot in them and they pretty much fall apart if you get them real wet. They are just for driving just as sports/race pedals are just for the race track.
Bottom line is if they want to try and do you for something they can pretty much almost always find something even on a lot of stock cars - wether right or wrong. Unlike with the rest of the legal system where your innocent until proven guilty the traffic act is pretty much the opposite where you have to go to court or get inspections done to clear your name after often false accusations have been made by often ignorant revenue collectors with often no more than 6 months academy training.
Some of their favourites include too dark window tinting (because it looks too dark to their highly trained eye especially at night with a torch), not enough tread on your tyres (again because it doesn't look enough to them), illegally bright lights (again they look too bright because of course your eyes can tell the difference between 100W and 110W when you've got xray vision and a big S on your chest), too low (because they think so), unengineered engine modifications because the engine doesn't look stock (to their expert non-mechanic eyes) and exhaust too loud (because it was louder than their fart from eating too much subsidised Maccas). Actually measuring or testing anything properly would take some equipment and effort. Its much easier for them to make you go and have it inspected and cleared (don't want to cut into any of their Krispy Kreme eating time).
