hi guys....just need some advice. does anyone elses jazz seem to slip when changing gears (MT). When i start on first gear, it seems like if i do not step on quite a lot of throttle, then the car will go really slow then after a certain rpm will take off?.....and it does this for 1,2,3rd gear . does anyone have this problem or is there a problem with my clutch or something? thanks for any help!!

Yeah i've found my clutch is a bit odd... has a weird shudder if i dont slip it right Also in traffic, sometimes, the friction point seems lower than it is normally. Other times, the clutch seems to be a tiny bit sticky? I mentioned it to honda @ glenelg (S.A) and they said that clutch operation seemed normal and that i'd need to work out how to reproduce the behavior to show the mechanics. Since the low friction point and occasional sticky pedal are only occasional its not so easy to show what is happening

i don't seem to recall that i have this problem but i do feel that the biting point is a bit high. got to release more of the clutch before the car actually picks up smoothly
hey nick, any comments as you are driving a manual as well.

well, I guess I mentioned that before. Im not sure your situation~ but to me, it's like U need to hold the cluth longer to gain more power from your accer... orelse the whole journey from downhill to upwill might cause your car stalling...><~~ sometimes my car will stall eventhough no ppl or luggage in my car while goin up to a quite steep hill eventhough 1st gear only~ but if I hold the cluth longer + step more power then it won't have this problem~~ it's abit strange to me~~ ~ and sometimes while goin up to a hilly area~ I can feel that the gear will lose abit of power~ say need to shift from 5th to 4th, or something I might need to use 3-2 gears~ just feeling that Jazz is good on smooth road but not for hilly road ~

at least yours isn't the 1.2 model XD Mine struggles big time up a hill.
I had 4 people (inc me) and we were going up this slight gradient.....man I had my foot planted to the floor and it still stayed at 70mph (o.O) put it down to 4th and it still stayed the same!

Im not sure your situation~ but to me, it's like U need to hold the cluth longer to gain more power from your accer... orelse the whole journey from downhill to upwill might cause your car stalling...><~~ sometimes my car will stall eventhough no ppl or luggage in my car while goin up to a quite steep hill eventhough 1st gear only~ but if I hold the cluth longer + step more power then it won't have this problem~~ it's abit strange to me~~ ~ and sometimes while goin up to a hilly area~ I can feel that the gear will lose abit of power~ say need to shift from 5th to 4th, or something I might need to use 3-2 gears~ just feeling that Jazz is good on smooth road but not for hilly road ~ i feel that jazz loses quite a hugh amount of power when going up steep slopes. even after rushing down from a steep slope and immediately hitting an up-slope. i need to change from gear 5 to gear 1 in order to clear it. if i change to gear 3, it will not work. but overall on flat grounds and gentle slope, the jazz is still alright. probably because its just a 1.5l and its a manual??

wah~ Im wondering how powerful can it be for 1.3 since 1.5 is not powerful to drive up the hill~~ ~~ can't deny that Jazz is mainly for Asia country coz Asia doesnt have much hill to drive ~ hehehe~~ I hate AUS, too many small hills in urban area~

Reading this I'm soooo glad I don't have the manual.
Did they stop selling the manual in Japan because it wasn't popular or because of problems or because of the higher emissions?
No probs with hills with the CVT. Worse come to worse just engage L instead of D for Der.
Certainly can feel the difference with 5 passengers and luggage but I expect that being as its not a 300kw V8 with enough torque to tow Tasmania back to the mainland.

Surprised that nobody really drives manual in Japan. Would've assumed the land of tuning would use manual.
I drive the manual because it's more fun...however reading stuff about CVT, sounds like it's better.

yeah~~ U know what, I always feel scare to get 5 ppl + luggage in my car especially to stop at the hilly area~ coz I tried that once and the car was stalling badly...><~~ they asked me what's wrong with the car eventhough I full step the pedal, I could only say the engine is crap as an excuse~~ ~

From past experience in other cars when the clutch fully lets go your simply not going anywhere. Vehicle will not even move in gear. Before that call the tow truck point you find your having to give it more gas to get it going and you can really feel the shipage most when 1st engaged in each gear and at initial takeoff.
