I just want to hear from you all whether you think the Defence Pack (both exterior and interior) is a worthy investment to the Honda Jazz. They each other cost AUD 595.00. I've heard from people that it's just another way for the Dealers to make easy money of us, it doesn't really do all that much, only serves as another selling point when we sell our car later....
so let me know what you know about the Defense Pack (Paint Protection & Interior Fabric, vinyl, leather)... all comments welcome, thanks!

Pure profit for the dealer.
Does not increase resale value 1 cent.
Dealers even try to sell rustproofing on galavanised and all alloy vehicles. Dealers are evil, dishonest, conniving lowlifes below even the depths of real estate agents and politicians (who are often real estate agents and car salesmen).
Spend the money on something you will get some benefit and enjoyment from instead.
For upholstery protection buy a can of scotchguard. If you want sound proofing buy some dynamat. Get your car tinted directly by a window tinter and don't pay dealer markup. The car is already sufficently rustproofed and warranted by Honda. Buy some nice polish like macguires if the exterior is not shiny enough or if it starts to loose its shine in a few months.

Yeah.. they call me up 2 days before I collect the car and ask me if I want "this and that" protection and cost like $1500 but discounted to $1000 or something.. I was like "wtf" I had to reject the "fantastic" offer and like what vividjazz said.. DIY and cost less than $100... You can get those polisher (machine) for less than $40 and does a fantastic job... I have to admit, I didn't buy those scothguard.. actually .. I should do that.. As for parking sensor.. I seriously think you won't need it.. Jazz is small and easy enough to park.. Unless you got a big car and the vision is like really sh1t.. off course, if it is for your gf / wife.. you probably need one.. ;D Back to the point.. dunno how much is selling those park sensor outside.. problem is you have to get it fitted or DIY .. whereas the HOnda's one is fitted and color coded to your bumper and warranty...

umm... good to hear from you cash goh, I'll take that on board... so yeh... I won't be getting any of those protection packs...and save some MONEY! but just hope you guys can give me a tip or 2 about how to take good care of my jazz... whether it's interior or exterior... like wht kinda products to use and what needs to be done...
As for Parking Sensor.... I know I dun really need it... but it's just that I had it on the old Jazz... (which wasn't my decision... my brother just thought it's a good idea to add it on...)... dunno I think I'm kinda getting used to having it on the car... but I'm asking RACV to get a quote for me for the Parking Sensors...since they are the one buy the car for me now... (coz I didn't put the Parking Sensor as part of my Insurance Policy... so if i want it on the new Jazz... I'll need to pay it myself... so tht might be the other issue... but I'll wait for the price first.. den make the final decision den...

pkng5, that's solely IMO though.. if your car become rusty after a few years.. don't blame me.. ;D ;D
Rules
1. Don't eat in the car.. especially drinks, coffees etc. 2. Don't smoke in the car.. hehehe.. 3. Wash and vacum the car when needed. 4. Wax it once a year or something.. half yearly if you want. 5. Use some good wax or scotchguard . such as the one vividjazz mentioned.
HEHEHE!!! ;D ;D

Well.... I kinda did the same as you jezzah for my old Jazz... I got both the interior and exterior defense pak for $1200... then got the dealer to give me the tinted window and Jazz carpet mat for free.... I regret paying for tht too.... should have just brought car washing and waxing products with tht money instead... would have saved soooo much more....
