well, I dunno U guyz have this problem or not. when I brake the car~~ some "rough rubbing sound will occur on my front disc, not like metal contact with sharp noise but some sort like a dynamo rubbing sound" I thought my brakepad was finished so I sent my car to Ultratune (not honda SC). when they checked it, they said the brakepad was fairly new and it could last atleast 2-3years~ the brakepad was the original one (honda guinuie parts). the technician can't tell whether this noise is considered normal or not, but it wouldn't affect the braking quality~~ he was not suggesting me to change a new one but if the sound is keep on annoying me~ then I can request to change it~ I wanna hear any comment from U guyz~ ^^ sometimes it will happen, but sometimes it wont~~ strange thing happen..><~

I would suggest to let the Honda service check it first.. if the car is still under warranty, they will have to fix it..
Certainly doesn't happen to mine.. how old is yours? It could be the disc problem as well.. over time, the disc will wear out unevenly which could have caused that.. Let the Honda guys check it out first...

mine one is 2003... I don't think the car still under warranty as I service my car at Ultratune (but they do help me to stamp for my logbook)~~ my friend also suggest me to do that~~ if so, then I guess I might send my car over and have a look

hmmm... hard to tell~~ the Ultratune technician said to me that it's Honda original brakepad~ he said the reason of so called "rubbing noise" could be the harden brakepad~ so far the car is back to normal after the technician took out and put back in the brakepad~~ but if the noise still occur, then I will bring my car to Honda dealer~ it's kind abit annoyed becoz of the sound~~ it's fine for me~~ but I feel embarassed if passangers sit in my car...><~ I've checked with the disc or rotor.... it doesnt show any deep scratch at all~~ what a strange problem

If I were you.. I will report the findings to Honda Australia and demand an explanation. That's the only reason why I prefer to service my Jazz at Honda dealers other than Ultratune or other service centres.. (not that they are not good).. just that if I have any queries or dodgy problem with the car, I can always go back to them and let them sort it out.. they can't find any excuse not to... In your case nick, as long as the book is stamped, I reckon you can always go back to the dealer for warranty claim.. However, they might give you some funny look like "mate.. you never bring your car for service here.. you are last in the queue.. " ;D just kidding..

If dealers weren't shifty then why wouldn't customers be able to watch their cars being serviced like in Japan. Why do Australian dealers need your car for a whole day when a service can easily be done while you wait? Are they just really poor at managing time yet require you to book your car in weeks in advance? Why don't dealers show you the parts they replaced as a matter of course?
Warranty work doesn't make as much money as out of warranty work. Amazing how any problem isn't covered by warranty as a consequence.
Trust a dealer or a hungry crocodile. At least the crocodile is honest.

I'm not silly enough to let any dealer do anything to my car.
One of the main reasons I bought a Honda is because a Honda specialist like Hanny's exists in Sydney who you can trust because they have a true passion for Honda not a greed for excessive profits at all costs.
Its bad enough having to visit their grottos and the do the paperwork with the salesman who won't be there the following week to buy the vehicle in the 1st place.
The last couple of cars I bought (before the Honda) were from dealerships where the life long sales guy had been with the one dealership for 40+ years and consequently wasn't full of bs. Its a very different sales experience when the salesman knows that he needs to build a life long relationship with the customer so he can keep selling them new vehicles every few years for life. A happy customer also feeds them more business from friends, work colleges and relatives. Unfortunately these guys are all retiring and there doesn't seem to be anyone with this long term vision taking their place. It all about a quick buck. You can fleece a sheep many times but only skin it once.

i understand your thoughts vivid. that's y these days, when i buy new car i'll go to squeeze the sucker at dealers in the full knowledge that i probably won't see him again, so no big deal.
it's true that ppl get ripped off all the time. my fd took delivery of a car that was scratched and the dealer misled him with the power windows sh!t.
also i won't necessary go back to the dealer i buy the car from for service. who does the best job gets my business.

honda dealer dunno shit really and they charge too much... for wat? for warranty purpose? ultratune also guarantees that car warranty wont b voided... i m sure that all the car dealers seen the ad and know that claim... if the claim is not true, those dealers would have pursued the matter with ultratune oredy... but y ultratune? i think any reputable place is the same...
