Just wondering, if I dropped my car about 30mm would it damage my stock dampers etc? Been talking to my friend about it and he said it's wiser to go for coilovers, but I'm a poor student and don't have the money I think he's only saying that cos he lowered his car by 60mm and only use springs and no dampers....super stiff ride.

30mm will be fine...It will make the stock shocks wear a bit quicker but nothing major to worry about. OEM shocks only last about 50,000km anyway....

My fren lowered his car, just change spring and use oem shocks. Its been 10 years now and oem shock still running ok. All depends on the way u drive as well.

Ahh good, don't want to have to change shocks like weeks if I get them fitted in.
Ride comfortability affected? Beside's being slightly stiffed, is it much different to what it would be stock?

Stock ride is not really that comfortable in the first place in my opinion. Don't you find the stock suspension to be far more stiffer than other cars?

i like stiff, able to corner better and doesn't feel like the car is gonna tumble over
jayesse: should the shocks be replaced after 50,000km?

Someone told me..make sure after the changing the spring, just make sure that the shocks are not sitting on the bump stop at all time.. if so, you shockers life will be over before you know..

They are what you hit when the suspension bottoms out. The suspension needs to have sufficient travel otherwise you hit a bump and the car will skip across the road. The real reason for lowering a car is to drop the center of gravity to improve handling. Having played with race cars where the only suspension mod allowed was lowering without sway bars I found sways bars far more effective. Unfortunally noone makes sway bars for the Jazz anywhere in the world. Whiteline don't want to do it until there are enough potential buyers to warrant the development (more Jazzes in the 2nd hand market). All you can get are a heap of strut bars though good aren't the same.

Someone told me..make sure after the changing the spring, just make sure that the shocks are not sitting on the bump stop at all time.. if so, you shockers life will be over before you know.. spring manufacturers make spring rate and height depending on the amount of travel produced by the shock. unless u go really really low, hardly ever any spring would cause the shock to sit on bump stop all the time. dont worry guys.... have fun.... u not gonna keep the car forever..... by the time shock is f**ked ur car is long gone...

dont worry guys.... have fun.... u not gonna keep the car forever..... by the time shock is f**ked ur car is long gone... hahaha!! Jazzpro.. you are damn right.. unless you wanna keep your car forever.. why worry? Just do it!! I've read somewhere: (This does not apply to Jazz as Jazzpro and teams have successfully lowered the car with stock shockers...) " Everyone who has fitted the 35mm lowering king springs to thier new car will be aware just how bumpy the ride is in the front of the car, this is due to the fact the shocks are almost sitting on the bump stops at ride height (10mm off bump stop+10mm of crush in bump stop total)and your shock absorber life will be over before you know it.So I have been working on a solution ,there is no Koni listing on the new car but i have found a adjustable Koni insert that will give a further 30mm of travel when fitted with the king springs, there is a fair amount of machineing involved(on the top of shock and to the top shock mounting hardware ) to make them fit ,but it can be done using all the existing top mount hardware.i.e. A direct bolt in replacement. "

Doesn't matter how hard you make the suspension of the Jazz its still would be nowhere near as hard as a sports bike.
