i went to the Shell next to Garden City, Brisbane, last night. and i saw they have Shell Optimax Extreme!

Filled up with Optimax Extreme. Very noticable improvement over Vortex 98 but only a very small improvement over BP Ultimate.

Woohoooo, vividjazz is the first one to try...
Wonder why there is not much noticeable improvement over BP Ultimate as compare to Carltex?

Normally I run BP 98 but it has been out of stock around Sydney the last couple of weeks so put the Vortex 98 in to try. The Vortex 98 just feels like 95. Back to back comparison of BP 98 to Extreme 100 was therefore not possible. I know the BP 98 felt soooo much better than the Vortex 98 so have to assume the difference to Extreme would be less.
I put the differences down to different additives not anything to do with RON. If it was just a RON difference between fuels then I think you would not be feeling any difference between 95 and 98 in the Jazz. Density and additives make the difference. 98 from the manufacturers get different additives to their 95 brew except maybe Caltex.

also i can tell u Caltex 98 is shit, it just over 97 sth (i saw in newspaper)
in fact, BP98 is better than shell 98, but i dun think BP 98 can better than shell 100.

Yeah regular Vortex is suppose to be 95. Thats why they came up with Vortex 98 rather than just calling it Vortex. I agree of the 98s BP Ultimate is the best out of Shell, Caltex and BP but I have never tried the Mobile Synergy stuff as there aren't as many Mobils about. Shell is going to stop doing 91 RON unleaded and offer 95 as standard unleaded like in Japan. I wonder if the others will follow suit. AVGas is 104 I think but contains lead so will kill the cat. |
