apart from the reflection, it is not a good idea to put anything on the dash becos it is very dangerous during a crash.

it is up to u regarding the risk of the items u put on the dash la.
i won't put anything and i mean anything. even those stuff that are stuck on firmly (screw on is diff tho). becos things can become loose during impact.
i crashed my previous car and i found out the hard way.....

also to those who consider putting stuff on the hatch cover thingy. beware that in a crash, those stuff will move forward and hit the rear passengers (most likely their head).
also all my solid items are placed in the boot and not on the seats, including books.

philip, I agree with you... I will recommend not to put any/too much unnecessary display toys on the dashboard etc.. Just drive the car man... (or women!!!)

what i said were NOT specific to any types of item, they were written in a general context. the title of this thread isn't "is papercraft safe to place on top of dashboard..."
i'm not trying to convince you or anything, everyone has to determine the level of risk they are happy and comfortable to take. afterall you are responsible for your own action, and you are just as responsible for the safety for the people travelling in your car, just keep that in mind.

Yeah I grad for QUT. but dont put toys on the dash in front of you as the reflection on the windscreen is annoying. I also have that thing, but my one is 2004! haha!! i don't have the reflaction problem! And yes, i am sure all my toys will fly away when crash, but i GUESS it has low chance to hurt me. I don't think they brake so easy after crashing (quite solid) ! mmm.... just let them fly!! I guess i won't did if i hit by little toys! If the crash is so serious and made all my toys fly away, i think the chance that i hurt by the steering wheel more then the toys! Accident is something that u can't predict, any things may hurt u when crash. (e.g. if u put neon/room lights, u may get elect shock; Nick's papercraft may paper cut u; if u put your mobile in the cup holder, it may fly up and hurt u.....) If talking about minimize of useless things in the car, better talk about be careful when u are driving, and to keep eyes open on other driver's action. As long as the things that u put on your deshboard are not sharp and easy to break (e.g. glass), i think that should be fine!!
