So u mean normal Move is available in Australia?? But i checked Daihatsu Australia website, they don't have Move!!?? The Move (not Move Custom with the round lights) was available in Australia. Of course it didn't sell well because Australians don't understand what it's all about. Then they discontinued it in 99 and taken over by the Charade Centro (basically a updated version of the Mira) and probably sold more to Universities than anywhere else because it was a cheap way to cart around security guards and exam papers. This was what the Australian Move looked like. I didn't realise it came with the 1.3L turbo (I thought it was only the YRV that came with that motor.. again not in Aust).

The Move Custom (pictured above) did not make it to Australia but the normal Move did. Then Malaysia decided to buy rights to build something similar. Copen I've driven... loved it.. but still a tad too small for me even though I like small cars in general. So u mean normal Move is available in Australia?? But i checked Daihatsu Australia website, they don't have Move!!?? the old model one....which is on 1997's

Yes.. with 17" Enkei, turbo and a bonnet scoop. I'm surprised it never got pushed in Australia.

Toyota should just bring in rebadged Daihatsu...
Yeah, the Swift seems to be a good thing that'll turn around Suzi... Daihatsu should have really done well with the fuel prices being so high. The few Sirions it imported looked quite nice and would have been a contender in the car shopping list had it not been pulled out of the market.

Australians don't like boxy cars. Only asians.
The suzuki is selling cos its not really a boxy car but more like the shape of a mini. It would sell better if it was a different brand like toyota but austrlians are generally into big cars and not into small japanese brands.
THere is kinda no point pushing these cars in this country as its only audience are the asians

i agree that australians like big cars like V6 or V8, but i just wonder doesn't the rise of petrol prices turn them off?

I just can't wait to see them when petrol goes to $1.40-1.50 range. I'm sure it will with oil going to $67 and don't see it going lower that it will hit those that cannot afford to drive their bomby Falcodore.
Certainly the "stay safe" people should be pushing the fact that driving hard and fast waste fuel and money... another good reason to take it easy on the roads.

Buy a Vespa! I've always wanted one of them to scoot about for groceries... not that I can carry a lot in it.
